MTECH MECHANICAL RECEIVES ABC NATIONAL SAFETY MERIT AWARD
WESTMINSTER, CO – On February 20, 2013 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida MTech Mechanical’s Director of Safety, Ernie Sotolongo, accepted the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Safety Merit Award at the 23rd Annual Excellence in Construction awards. MTech maintained a safety record that earned the company its second ABC’s National Merit Safety award in the NAICS 230 – Specialty Contractor category.
“MTech Mechanical Technologies has truly shown a dedication to becoming one of the leaders for the industry by striving to create the safest work environment possible for its employees,” said Michael D. Bellaman, ABC president and CEO.
Winning the ABC National Safety Merit award is a testament to MTech’s continued commitment to safety, its safety training programs, and its employees. ABC award winners were chosen based on achievement of Diamond and Platinum status in ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP). Award recipients were chosen by ABC’s National Environment, Health, & Safety Committee who judged award winners on total recordable rates, lost workday case rates, self-evaluation scores, leading indicator use, as well as interviews conducted by the committee. MTech’s outstanding and exemplary performance in these areas, along with its innovative safety programs earned MTech the award for National Safety Merit.
