MTech Earns 2014 ABC National Safety Excellence Award
Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) recognized MTech’s outstanding safety efforts in 2014 with a prestigious National Safety Excellence Award at the 25th annual Excellence in Construction Awards banquet Thursday, March 5 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. MTech was one of only eleven companies in the nation to be honored.
“This is a great validation of how hard every MTech employee works daily to actively demonstrate our safety culture,” said MTech’s Director of Safety, Ernie Sotolongo. “This is a culture that I am proud to be a part of.”
The ABC National Safety Excellence Awards recognize companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee. Awards are based on STEP applications, essay questions and video interviews with company Presidents/CEOs/Principals about their corporate safety culture. Award categories are based on a company’s total work-hours per calendar year and placement within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
“I have always known we have a strong safety culture. When asked during our interview about our culture, the best words came directly from several leaders in the field. Those words, their quotes, were the voice I relayed to ABC. They spoke the truth and sent a clear message; MTech cares about everyone’s safety.” said Thomas E. Dean, Principal, EVP with MTech.
