The USAFA Visitor’s Center is an iconic building that will become the gateway for visitors to the United States Air Force Academy. Consisting of approximately 32,000SF, exhibits will provide visitors the story of the Air Force Academy through virtual experiences and artifacts. In the high volume of the southernmost bay of the building, an Air Force plane will be suspended, providing visitors an awe-inspiring view of the jet heading into the sky against the backdrop of the Cadet Area of the Academy, the Rocky Mountains and Pikes Peak. Mechanical systems include displacement ventilation and radiant cooling in the high volume area and 4-pipe VAV air handling units throughout the remainder of the space.
