
This 205,000 sq ft lab building sits in the middle of the CSM campus and includes high efficiency mechanical and plumbing systems utilizing newer technologies. In addition to the efficient mechanical systems, there are hydrofluoric and perchloric exhaust systems, dust collection systems, RO water systems, and lab gas systems servicing the labs which will be primarily occupied by USGS. There will be shared office and laboratory space for Mines and USGS; Mines will occupy 40,000 square feet. Mechanical/Plumbing Systems include: Steam to hot water domestic water heaters, steam to hot water heating hot water HX’s, Konvekta energy recovery systems, Acutrol air valves for pressure control, indirect and direct evaporative cooling systems, hydrofluoric and perchloric exhaust systems, dust collector systems, lab gas systems, compressed air systems, vacuum systems, RO water system, clean steam systems, etc.
