Connecting Through Service: Supporting Project Our Town’s Bean Soup Initiative

Connection is at the heart of how we work: coming together across teams, departments, and jobsites to solve challenges and support the people around us. That same spirit extends beyond our projects and into the communities we call home. When many people contribute their time and effort toward a shared purpose, small acts of service can add up to a meaningful impact.

We recently partnered with Project Our Town to support their “Warm Your Heart Bean Soup Project,” an initiative that creates nutritious, shelf-stable meals for people facing food insecurity. We purchased 500 pounds worth of supplies which Project Our Town delivered for our team to package.

From our prefabrication shops to service teams to support departments, team members rolled up their sleeves and assembled 4,000 servings of bean soup!

Project Our Town specializes in creating meaningful volunteer opportunities that support local nonprofit organizations and address critical community needs. Their mission aligns closely with MTech’s commitment to giving back and investing in the communities where we live and work.

Project Our Town distributes the kits to many nonprofits across Colorado, and we were honored not only to package them, but also personally deliver the soup kits to North Denver Cares Food pantry, a long-term, local partner of MTech.

What makes events like this so meaningful is they combine community impact with teamwork, giving people the chance to work side-by-side in support of a shared cause. It’s not all that different from what we do every day! Volunteer events like this simply allow us to bring that same spirit of collaboration into the communities we serve in a new way.

We are grateful to Project Our Town for facilitating the event at our office which allowed all team members to be included!

At MTech, we’re proud of the work we do every day and we’re equally proud of the opportunities we have to serve our communities. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success.
