Building A Culture of Giving: MTech’s 10th Annual Chili Cookoff

It’s one of our favorite traditions of the year—our annual Chili Cookoff Competition, held in celebration of the Super Bowl. And once again, MTech teams across all offices brought the heat.

From classic recipes to bold, creative twists, team members showcased their best chili creations in a friendly competition that brought coworkers together for some spirited tasting (and a little friendly rivalry). After sampling the entries, employees cast their votes to crown this year’s winners.

But the impact goes beyond bragging rights.

Each office winner earned the opportunity to direct a $500 donation to a charity of their choice, turning a fun internal event into meaningful support for organizations making a difference in our communities.

Congratulations to Our 2026 Winners 🎉

Molly Cape (Westminster Office)

Supporting Anythink Library Foundation

Molly’s winning recipe featured Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage and drew inspiration from a bold, flavorful chili concept. She is a frequent visitor to Anythink Libraries with her son!

Matt Houlihan (Mountains)

Supporting Eagle Valley Humane Society

Matt wasn’t afraid to step out of his comfort zone to try something new. It was his first time making chili but certainly won’t be his last! Matt has a rescue dog of his own, Killian, and volunteers at the shelter walking dogs.

Tal Clark (Northern Colorado)

Supporting Colorado Youth Outdoors

Tal’s recipe is a true Texas red chili, featuring spices sourced directly from the lone star state. As an outdoorsman himself, Tal appreciates Colorado Youth Outdoors for providing kids with opportunities to connect with their family and community through outdoor recreation.

Nick Siakotus (Southern Colorado)

Supporting Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs

As our Risk Manager, Nick was sure to include a disclaimer waiving his liability for “all known and unknown risks including, but not limited to, excessive sweating, spontaneous tears, temporary loss of speech, and questionable life choices.” Children’s Colorado is near and dear to Nick’s heart.

More Than Just Chili

While the competition is always a highlight, the Chili Cookoff reflects something deeper about MTech’s culture—bringing people together, celebrating creativity, and giving back to the communities we serve.

Events like this are a reminder that strong teams aren’t just built on job sites. They’re built through shared experiences, connection, and a commitment to making a positive impact both inside and outside the workplace.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s competition and seeing what recipes our team cooks up next!
